Auto updates this week: Kia Syros launches, Audi RS Q8 revealed, MG Cyberster showcased

As we move into the second week of February, the Indian automotive industry remains abuzz with exciting new car launches. Kia India has introduced the much-anticipated Syros SUV, while MG Motor has unveiled its futuristic Cyberster electric sports car. Meanwhile, Audi India has made headlines announcing the updated RS Q8 Performance. Let’s take a closer look at the latest developments in the auto sector.

Kia Syros

Positioned above the Kia Sonet in the company’s SUV lineup, the Syros debuted in the Indian market on 1st February. This compact SUV boasts a host of advanced features, combining style with performance. Highlights include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, ventilated rear seats, and a panoramic sunroof.

The Syros is available with two engine options: a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. Both powertrains are offered with manual and automatic transmission options. Depending on the variant, prices range from ₹9 lakh to ₹15 lakh (ex-showroom).
Audi RS Q8 Performance

Audi is gearing up to launch the highly anticipated RS Q8 Performance, a performance-focused SUV powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine. Scheduled for release on 17th February, the standard variant will deliver a maximum power output of 591 bhp and 800 Nm of peak torque, while higher-performance versions will generate 631 bhp and 850 Nm. Prospective buyers can reserve the Audi RS Q8 Performance with a booking amount of ₹5 lakh.

MG Cyberster

MG Motor showcased the all-electric Cyberster at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. This sports car features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds. The powertrain delivers 510 bhp and 725 Nm of torque, powered by a 77 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, offering a range of up to 570 km on a single charge.

MG M9 EV

Set to arrive in the Indian market in March 2025, the luxury electric MPV, the MG M9 EV, was also unveiled at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo. Equipped with a 90 kWh battery pack, the vehicle is expected to compete with premium MPVs such as the Toyota Vellfire and Kia Carnival.
