The automaker opened bookings for both models on Friday, with the XEV 9e accounting for 56% of the total and the BE 6 making up the remaining 44%.
“Mahindra Electric Origin SUVs create a new record in EV category by clocking 30,179 bookings on Day 1,” Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra said in a post on social media platform X.
The company revealed that 73% of the bookings were for the top-end Pack Three variant, which comes with a 79 kWh battery. The two SUVs are priced between ₹18.9 lakh and ₹30.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
The milestone comes as electric vehicle sales in India reached nearly 1 lakh units last year, indicating growing consumer interest in the segment. Mahindra aims to strengthen its position in the EV market with the new launches under its Electric Origin lineup.
