Auto launches this week: from Nissan Magnite KURO to Porsche Macan and Mercedes EV teaser

The Indian automotive market is teeming with activity as several brands unveil new models and special editions. Highlights this week include Nissan’s launch of the Magnite KURO Special Edition, Porsche’s introduction of the Macan with Design Package, Oben Electric’s Rorr EZ Sigma electric motorcycle, Triumph’s debut of the Thruxton 400 café racer, and more. Here’s a look at the latest developments from the auto industry.

Nissan Magnite KURO Special Edition

Nissan Motor has launched the new Magnite KURO Special Edition in India, with prices starting at ₹8.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The special edition features a striking all-black theme both inside and out. The name “KURO” is derived from the Japanese word for “black”.

The all-black appearance includes a piano black grille, black skid plates, black roof rails, and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

Porsche Macan with Design Package

Porsche has introduced a special limited-run version of its petrol-powered Macan SUV, called the Macan with Design Package. This edition features several design enhancements to distinguish it from the standard model.

In a special offer, the first 30 buyers will be able to purchase the Macan with Design Package at the standard model’s price of ₹96.05 lakh. Existing owners who wish to upgrade can avail of the Design Package for ₹7.5 lakh.

Oben Electric Rorr EZ Sigma

Oben Electric has unveiled the Rorr EZ Sigma electric motorcycle in India. It is available at an introductory price of ₹1.27 lakh for the 3.4 kWh variant and ₹1.37 lakh for the 4.4 kWh variant (ex-showroom). After the introductory period, prices will rise to ₹1.47 lakh and ₹1.55 lakh, respectively.

The Rorr EZ Sigma is offered in four colour options: Photon White, Electro Amber, Surge Cyan, and a new Electric Red.

Triumph Thruxton 400

Triumph Motorcycles has launched the Thruxton 400 café racer in India, priced from ₹2.74 lakh (ex-showroom). This is Triumph’s first café racer built on its 400cc platform and joins the brand’s existing lineup, including the Speed 400, Scrambler 400 X, Scrambler 400 XC, and Speed T4.

The Thruxton 400 is available in four colour combinations: Lava Red Gloss with Aluminium Silver. Pearl Metallic White with Storm Grey, Metallic Racing Yellow with Aluminium Silver and Phantom Black with Aluminium Silver.

Suzuki Avenis Scooter

Suzuki Motorcycle India has introduced a refreshed version of the Avenis 125cc scooter featuring new dual-tone colour schemes. The updated model is priced at ₹91,400 for the standard edition and ₹93,200 for the Ride Connect variant (ex-showroom).

The latest colour option, Metallic Matte Platinum Silver No. 2 with Glass Sparkle Black, is aimed at enhancing the scooter’s sporty appeal.

Mercedes-Benz GLC EV Teased

Mercedes-Benz has released a teaser for the upcoming GLC EV, ahead of its global debut at the Munich Motor Show on 7 September. The teaser reveals a redesigned illuminated grille featuring a pixelated LED effect. However, most design and technical details for the brand’s new luxury electric SUV remain under wraps.
