Tata Motors launches 2025 Altroz facelift in India at ₹6.89 lakh with feature upgrades

Homegrown automaker Tata Motors, on Thursday, launched the 2025 Altroz facelift in India with an introductory ex-showroom price of ₹6.89 lakh, a Rs 24,000 increase over the previous model’s starting price of ₹6.65 lakh.

This is the first major update for the premium hatchback since its 2020 debut, with changes to design and features to compete with the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai i20, and Toyota Glanza. Bookings start on June 2, 2025.

The exterior of the new Altroz includes new LED headlights with DRLs, a redesigned grille with the Tata logo, and updated front and rear bumpers. It features flush-style door handles, new 16-inch alloy wheels, and a full-width LED tail-light strip. Colour options are Pristine White, Pure Grey, Royal Blue, Ember Glow, and Dune Glow.

The interior has a new dashboard layout with a dual-tone finish, redesigned seats with better thigh support, adjustable headrests, and a fold-down armrest with cupholders. It includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

In terms of other features, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster with navigation and blind-spot monitoring, a voice-enabled sunroof, wireless charger, ambient lighting, rear AC vents, cruise control, keyless entry, and over 50 connected car features are available in the top Accomplished+ S trim.

Based on the ALFA architecture, the Altroz maintains its 5-star GNCAP safety rating, with six airbags, ESP, ABS with EBD, a 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring, blind-spot monitoring, hill hold assist, fog lamps, and ISOFIX anchors standard. Boot space is 345 litres for petrol and diesel variants and 210 litres for CNG variant.

The powertrain options remain unchanged: a 1.2-litre petrol engine (87 bhp, 115 Nm), a 1.5-litre diesel engine (88 bhp, 200 Nm), and a 1.2-litre CNG engine (74 bhp) with twin-cylinder technology.

Transmission options are a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic, and a new 5-speed AMT for the petrol variant. However, the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine (118 bhp, 170 Nm) from the Altroz Racer is not available.

Offered in five trims—Smart, Pure, Creative, Accomplished S, and Accomplished+ S—the Altroz ranges from ₹6.89 lakh to ₹11.29 lakh (ex-showroom) for announced variants. Prices for AMT, dual-clutch, and trims like Pure S, Creative S, and Accomplished+ S (petrol-MT and petrol-DCT) are pending.
