With a length of 4.99 metres, a width of nearly 2 metres, and a long wheelbase of 3 metres, Xiaomi says that the car is built for comfort and space. It includes a large panoramic sunroof, a minimalist interior, and up to 1,970 litres of storage space.
The YU7 offers a tech-laden cabin with a unique panoramic display system called HyperVision. It spans over a metre across the lower windshield and can project everything from speed and navigation data to entertainment controls, all tailored to different passengers. There’s also a separate remote control panel for rear passengers.
The front seats offer massage functions and a ‘zero-gravity’ recline, while the rear seats can tilt up to 135 degrees. The cabin is wrapped in soft-touch materials and Nappa leather certified safe even for infants.
Under the hood, the YU7 is powered by Xiaomi’s HyperEngine V6s Plus technology, said to be pushing out up to 690 horsepower and reaching 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.23 seconds in the Max version. Xiaomi added that the Standard variant offers a class-leading 835 km range (CLTC) on a single charge, thanks to its 96.3 kWh battery.
Charging is impressively fast: With its 800V platform, the car is said to go from 10% to 80% battery in 12 minutes, or add 620 km of range in just 15 minutes.
The YU7 is equipped with advanced safety and driver-assistance systems powered by NVIDIA’s Thor chip. It features LiDAR, 4D millimetre-wave radar, and multiple cameras and sensors to improve visibility and detect obstacles, even in bad weather. It supports over-the-air updates and is ready to integrate with AI-based driving models in the future.
Variants, pricing, and availability
The Xiaomi YU7 is available in three variants:
- Standard: 253,500 yuan
- Pro: 279,900 yuan
- Max: 329,900 yuan
Currently, the YU7 is only available in China. Xiaomi has not yet announced plans for international release, but the model’s specs suggest it could be a serious competitor in the global EV market, especially against vehicles like Tesla’s Model Y.
